As of 1/1/07 - yes. I think birth certificate is minimum. If the child is adopted you may need court papers as well. Contact the airline you plan on flying and ask them for specifics.

my daughter is now 7.........when we traveled with her when she was young, we did not have to purchase her a seat if she was under age 2, but we had to bring a birth certificate proving her age. you can call the airline and they will be able to tell you for sure if you need indentification for proof of age and if you need to buy her a ticket for a seat.

No. But it is always wise to carry ID for all of your family when traveling. However, I would suggest contacting the airline for their requirements

It may not be required....but I think it would be a good idea. Just in case.....you never know what could happen. Better to be safe than sorry.
