The war left the significance of Saddam behind long ago. It now is all about the tribes and who gets what and who gets revege on who. We only get in the way of the warring factions so at best we only delay the goals of these tribes we can't stop them. Also the way Saddam was hanged on a Sunni holiaday and to the chants of the Shites only made Saddam a martyr and you can't kill the ideas of martyrs. So the Sunni's are going to be that more resistant to Shite rule. So as you can see their is no winning here . Just an endless civil war that needs to burn itself out. Try getting Bush to do that and you will see why we are still in Iraq.

i don't think of the reason became to get Saddam on the commencing up. We have been in contact with Kuwait and battling against Iraq because of the fact they have been attempting to take over Kuwait. Then Saddam tried to get the former President Bush assassinated. And whilst the extra youthful President Bush took over, they theory that Iraq had WMDs and observed a thank you to head after Saddam in retaliation. and additionally because of the fact Saddam became killing his own people, so the U. S. desperate to take down Saddam and by technique of doing this convey a democratic government to Iraq. They succeeded in getting Saddam, besides the undeniable fact that that is been confusing for the people of Iraq to stand against terrorists for themselves.

Because Saddam is dead has nothing to do with ending this war. It never did,. The U.S. has no intentions of ending the war in Iraq. They have already built permanent military bases there; they are building a large embassy there; when Bush sends 20,000 or more troops there for the "surge" effort, Bush and his cronies will find some excuse to KEEP them there no matter what happens.
The overall plan is to never leave.

Hanging Saddam had nothing to do with the US at all, so therefore has no impact on our mission and continued presence there.
The reason we are still in Iraq for those of you who must be told REPEATEDLY, is because the Iraqis must have a stable government in place and be able to defend themselves before we can leave. Otherwise, countries like Syria and Iran will have their way with the region. Iran and Syria are primary sponsors of terror, and since we are trying to stop terror in the world, allowing them to run rampant over Iraq be a bad thing. The United States appearing weak to people who only understand strength and force would also be a bad thing. Abandoning people who trust us to help them would be a bad thing.
Let me know if you need it stated some other way. Sorry if I was sarcastic, but I hate rhetorical questions, especially when they are designed to annoy people.

This is either a rhetorical question or from the mind of a 12 year old just try and think things thru to different scenarios
We leave, Iran moves in full civil war we get blame for the mess.
We leave no country ever trust us to follow thru on our promises.
We leave rouge nations like Iran or N Korea will believe that we would not have the will to oppose anything they did.
We leave the rest of the middle east nations would see it as a signal that the US cannot tough things out they disdain weakness.
So you see if you use a little brain power you will start to see the ramifications of simply pulling out.

Saddam was hung by the Iraqis for crimes against the Iraqis.
The US did not hang Saddam. The US didn't cry over him, but we didn't do it. His death means nothing to us, but a lot to the Iraqis.
The US leaving before we stabilize their country would mean we had not finished the job, and it would mean the same thing to the Iraqis. We need to make sure they can provide for their own security before we can leave.
It seems obvious to me, but I suppose that some people don't keep up with current events.

Because the war we started there is not over yet. Iraq is in the middle of a civil war. The US took their government & head officials out of command. We are responsible for taking care of those people until they can care for themselves and until the war settles. Talk to a soldier that's been there. They'll tell you exactly why America should not leave yet.

It's about restoring "proper" leadership now. There is a civil war going on over there about who will be in charge.

Why couldn't America win the Vietnam war,do you think America
is so powerful that all it has to do is click its fingers and all is well.
You cant win a war when your enemy uses hit and run tactics.
America wins conventional wars, because you have weapons
that will destroy any enemy, but you cant kill what you cant see.
You have yourselves another vietnam, and its GWBs fault so
good luck with that
