Just make sure that you clean it properly and watch that it doesn't get infected. Cats have a oil in there claws that can cause a scratch to be itchy. It is not anything to be concerned about. As for rabies. If the cat is an indoor cat it will most likely not have been exposed to any other animals that are infected with rabies, so I would not be to overly concerned with that.

Give me a break. Do you know anything about animals? You don't get rabies from a cat scratch. Unless you are allergic to cats you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Keep your face away from the cat's claws next time. Maybe you should do some research on rabies too if you have any spare time.
Oh....and tell your son that he should get his cat to the vet for shots. 1) It's the law and 2) The cat needs to be vaccinated even if it is an indoor cat. It could get out and catch something.
Be responsible pet owners.

No, you should be fine. You may want to wash the area and if you are allergic to cats you should expect a bit of swelling and puffiness. But you shouldn't need to worry about rabies because the cat is indoors. See what happens after a few hours and if it doesn't look good, it wouldn't hurt to get checked out.

Was the cat an indoor cat before your son got him? If not then I would get checked by a doctor. You can become really sick just by getting a scratch from a cat. If the scratch is deep, I would go to the doctor as soon as you can.

I would go get checked just to be sure. I'm not sure why or if it's true, but I heard, if you get scratched or bit by a cat, that it could cause problems and you should always check it out to be safe. There's probably nothing to worry about, but just to be on the safe side, you should go get it checked. You might need a tetanus shot.

Last year my 6 year old son was bitten by a stray cat on his face. The bite was really large considering it was a cat! It almost looked like a dog bite the cat just jumped at him with one bite! He had really bad swelling and his eye was swelled shut and he had to get stitches. We had to get the cat and take it to the vet since it was a stray and the vet had to put it down to see if it was destemper or something they examin the brain of the cat. since he was a stray. Your bite might need to get checked and make sure your shots are all up to date. Tetnis and so on. If the cat is a house cat you probably are fine. the saliva from cats causes iritation fast. Make sure your get checked out. you just might need to get it properly cleaned out by the doctor it wouldn't hurt. My son now has a scar on his face. His cat never had any deseases but I am glad he was ok. Go to your doctor NOW!!!!!

Just wash it off, its an inside cat, I'm sure you won't get some horrible disease. I can't even say how many cat scratches I've gotten in my life, and I've never gotten sick from them. You may want to rethink going to your son's house with a puppy again though. Cats can be just as territorial as dogs, so taking a puppy over there wasn't a very good idea.

if you cleaned the cut right away you really shouldnt have any thing to worry about, rabid animals foam at the mouth and are mad, attacking everything around until they are put down, if the cat is an indoor cat it is almost impossible that the cat has rabies, if the cut was very deep then you might want to get it looked at, other than that, you shouldnt have anything to worry about

Actually if it is an indoor cat you need to worry about the bacteria from his litter box. Make sure that you have cleaned it w/ antibacterial soap and watch for redness & swelling. If it starts to look infected go to the doctors!
