I want a good sturdy machine and please do not suggest a gazelle because I have one and I hate it.

Hi Amy! I'm a fitness professional and recommend fitness equipment to people all of the time, based on their needs. However, at that price range you won't find anything that is quality built. Real cardio equipment (in other-words those that will be reliable and last for years) starts in the $600 range. Stay away from Nordic Track, Weslo, Image, Epic, Proform, Healthrider, Reebook, or any other treadmill from the Nordic Track family. Like the Gazelle, they just aren't worth the money...

Your best bet is to save up for a brand new Horizon T71 treadmill or EX55 elliptical. For their price they're the best deal around! I just checked pricing yesterday for someone and A2Z Fit (link below) was the best on-line dealer out there and one that I've worked with many times in the past. They even beat Amazon on price and additional services, freebies, and no sales tax except for deliveries to PA. Since you're looking for a quality piece of fitness equipment, you have to remember that you get what you pay for... I hope that helps!

No offense, but in my opinion you will not get a good machine at all if you are only going to spend $200-300. You would be better off spending the money on a gym membership and a babysitter.

I've had really good luck with my Smooth treadmill. My husband did a lot of research before we bought it, and I believe it had top ratings from Consumer Reports. I don't think you'll find anything that is sturdy or long-lasting in the price range you're looking for. If cost is a big issue, maybe you could join an inexpensive gym?
