1. Set aside ten weeks before the date the weight needs to be off. Doctors have said that weight loss of more than 2-3 pounds a week (or 500g per week in metrics) is hazardous to your health.
2. Cut out fast food meals, super-sized anything won't help you lose those vanity pounds
3. replace high fat foods with veggies, whole grains, and fruits.
4. If you're eating meat, the average portion size is 3 oz. which is roughly the size of your fist, so any more than that and you'll gain weight, not lose it. Cut the fatty bits, not matter how tasty it really is.
5. drink lots of water. This will not only trick your mind into thinking your not hungry, but it will clean out your system and help you lose water weight. 5-15 lbs of your body weight is water weight and its the easiest to shed in the least amount of time. However, fad diets do feed on this false sense of achievement. If you do want to lose weight long term, there's almost impossible to lose that much weight over a month.
6. remember to work out for at least a hour, three times a week, but no more than five times. Your body needs a rest every once an a while. NEVER work out too intensely, either. If you go faster than a jog, you can't burn fat efficiently.
7. Stay away from salts and sugars.

Ok to start 1 stone= 14 pounds. The most you can ever lose and be healthy is 2 pounds a week(1/7 of a stone) That being said there is no healthy way to lose a stone in a week unless you want to become VERY VERY unhealthy just run and eat right and you'll lose it over 2 months

With a healthy diet of lean chicken, fish, vegetables, pulses and fruit and a serious exercise programme focussing on cardiovascular activity such as running, boxercise, skipping, cycling, rowing, circuit training (at least an hour on 5 days per week), you could loose around 3 pounds per week. That would be 12 pounds, which is almost a stone.
Its challenging but not impossible but you would have to be committed small and regular portions of healthy food and be serious about your exercise regime.
How quickly and how much weight you loose largely depends on how overweight you are as its much easier for an obese person to lose a stone than for someone of relatively normal body weight.
I tell you what won't work and that's crash dieting! Starve yourself and your body will think its a famine and your metabolism with just shut up shop.
I suggest you become fitter and healthier overall, then there isn't this panic of trying to loose a huge amount of weight in a few weeks. And if you've lost it change your lifestyle so you don't pile it back on.

Eat plenty of fruit and vegetables. Drink at least two pints of water a day. Eat plenty of fibre and last but not least eat several walnuts a day .
Oh....and exercise.
It is possible but you have to be strict with yourself
Good luck!

sure the dieticians and docs will wack me for this one, but Atkins. I lost 17 pound in 10 days by sticking to their 2 week initial stage - ate bacon and eggs every morning, then steak every night.....not too hard to stick to for 10 days, then you get bored of chewing. Had loads of energy though.
