Interestingly many have said that both require an equal amount of faith, but a Christian's faith is a faith that is OF God and that is invested IN God.
Whereas an Atheist's faith is a counter-faith, it's a faith that despite the evidence and the same seed of faith in them, that is OF God, they invest their faith in the opposite.
It takes a great deal more faith to believe there is no God than to believe there is. But very few self confessed Atheist's really are Atheist's, they just don't like to admit it.
The God ordained purpose of faith is to exercise it seeking Him. If we will do that He will reveal the truth to us, who is Jesus Christ.
God bless you all.

Both as you say have a sincere belief. The tragedy is if the atheist is wrong he loses so much more. Christians do not feel like they are missing out in life. To me, I don't need to drink and take dope to be happy, and neither do many atheists. But what if they are wrong, it breaks my heart for them, to miss out on Christ for eternity seems too much grief. I wish they would look to Christ rather than at the failings of His followers. Man will always let you down.

Well, I can only say that I know I am loved and watched over by my God and that., as a follower of Jesus the Christ, I will be spending eternity in joy and happiness. An atheist can't tell you what will be their fate (other than rotting in the ground). If I am wrong, no harm no foul. If they are wrond, what are they going to do? YBIC

True Faith (which ALWAYS points to the Person of Jesus Christ).
Beliefs are a dime a dozen (i.e. the belief that a piece of rock is "god").
Also, sincerity is not the measure of any belief. One can believe something sincerely and still be sincerely wrong.

No difference. They both have the right to believe what they can. I have seen reports of death after life that have shown a major difference in how one is accepted in the afterlife. I do not know that I believe this. I sometimes like to call myself an agnostic and just simply acknowledge that there is a greater power. That is, at least until push comes to shove and my childhood beliefs come through. We all walk our own path and choose our own methods of belief and worship. Just walk that walk and you will be okay.

The difference is the existence of facts.
Christians will believe in the bible despite the innumerable contradictions to provable facts.
For example:
1. The bible states that beetles have four legs and it doesn't take science to count six legs on the little critters.
2. The bible states that the earth stands on pillars and has four corners.

As someone pointed out the other day, the definition of atheist isn't the belief that there is no god; instead, it is a LACK of belief in any gods. One is adamantly opposed; the other is neutral.

Not much, I see them both acting on the faith of something that cannot be proven. Both can be just as "religious" in their belief. Many of them from both sides depend on books and other people to determine what "truth" is.
To me, I see no difference.

Christians are willing to accept that theres a God, and Atheists don't seem willing at all to accept the fact that they might be wrong, and that there is a God.

Well, one is based on belief. The other is based on a general lack of evidence.
Atheism isn't really a "belief" per se.

The atheists sincere belief is that they have never proved the existance of god. He may exist, but they have no proof and that is waht atheists want.
