I have IBS and have been having a lot of bright red blood in my stool . Does anyone know what this could be? I have a doctors appointment for tomorrow, but I would like some reasurence that this is not as bad as I'm thinking it is!!

(I had that) The fact that it's bright is good. It means that its near the outside. If it were darker it could be a sign of colon cancer. The doctor will probably order a colonoscopy. My guess is that you have anal fissures, which are little tears in your rectum. Nothing serious, so long as they don't get infect they usually heal on their own, but don't get too worried if they show up again later.

IBS can be a nerve condition
I tried all the anti diahreah OTC out there the only thing that worked for me was leaheys #3

It's bowel not bowl.
They should be able to give you medication for your problem. That's a symptom of IBS.

What is a lot of blood if measured in tablespoons?
If it is several tablespoons, call your doctor's office to let know.
