Right-click on the icon for the file and select Properties. This should tell you what kind of document it is.

If it is not a Word document, and is indicated as a text file, you can try opening it in Notepad.

If you want it to be a Word document, select the text and cut, then go to a blank Word document and paste. Then, File, Save As. Here, be sure to save as filetype Word document.

If not, interior the word application attempt click on "report" and "open". while that field pops up bypass down and under "report form" decide on ".rfile". that would desire to seek the completed computing gadget for that word report you stored and with a bit of luck it is going to arise. perhaps you stored it to an atypical folder. stable success

You could try changing the file extension my renaming the file to:

yourfilenamehere.doc by simply adding the .doc to the end.
