Don't hold your breath, Bush is being an idiot in my opinion and when he decides to stop that (which isn't happening, probably) that's when war will end and our troops will come home. Bush doesn't care how many troops die, as long as he's safe.

Honestly, I think we'll still be there in 2010. Maybe by 2012 we'll have all out but a few but its not going to be easy to leave and watch Iraq fall under the civil war and weak government.

We will have troops in Iraq for years to come. Their role will eventually change, but they will be there. Look at past wars and how many countries we have soldiers in. God Bless them for their service!

50+ years. We will have some presence there for a very long time unfortunately.

Just like we are still in Western Europe and Japan.

Sounds like some sort of plan to police the world. Doesn't it?

lol... this is just like vietnam.... exept bush is too stupid to watch the signs. Iraqis are prepared to sacrafice all of the men in the country... just to kill an american. With that kind of dedication how can they hope to win? for every iraqi the americans kill 5 more will rise up into his place. They could sacrafice 10 men for every american soilder and eventualy the americans would have to with draw because the american people won't put up with losses in the hundreds of thousands.

Taking defenders and proving their only pretenders.
