Buffet, Kids like buffet and at least there is something different for everyone. And your not spending hundreds of dollars on food that won't be eaten, like you would at a sit down restaurant. $10-$20 p.p. and you are good to go

Find a place with a family atmoshpere, a bar, a separate room for large parties and a high audio volume level. The first places that come to mind are Cheeseburger in Paradise, O'Charley's, Fatz Cafe.
We have trendy local brew pubs in my town that offer pizza and beer with extra rooms that have video games, pool tables, fooz ball tables, etc. Places like this are generally smoke free and child friendly. The adults have a more relaxed time too, and you dont have to go to a commercialized place.

It has got to be an eat as much as you like. One that has all different tastes catered for. In England we have an Harvester in america they have different resturants I've seen quite a few out there so just look they are there. Chinese or salard bars that do much more

the obvious answer is....go where you want to go ! the restaurant businesss is a SERVICE business-that's why you go to dine out ! any restaurant worth their salt will cater to you and your children- if the children get along, you can always seat them together so they can entertain each other while the adults converse.
