Say you feel your lives are moving in different directions and don't feel it's fair to continue to see him anymore.

That's a hard question! You really can't do it without hurting his feelings probably, but you have to be honest with him , and let him know if this is the way you feel.
Ask yourself the same question. How would you want a guy to tell you he didn't have feelings for you anymore?

There is no easy way to end a relationship. You just need to be honest and sure. The thing is if you continue in a 'dead' relationship, the person will only be more hurt in the end. And any sign of unsureness will give the person hope that you are really just taking time out.
Outline the person's good points and the fact that you do care, just not as much or in that manner.
As I said before, it will sound harsh, but there is no easy way, only gentle truth.

theres no easy way of putting it. the only thing you could probably say that would make it a lil easier for him is telling him u still wanna be frendz or keep in touch and hang out every once in a while and that the reason u wanna leave him is cuz u think he deserves better. it doesnt necessarily have to be true, but if u say that then ull get ur point across.

Why are you so worried about his feelings? If you care about his life and his future be honest with him so he can get on with it and find a woman who does have feelings for him. Feelings are meant to be hurt - that is why we have them.
