and also that she hed no job and was totally financially dependent on him. it makes me think, what the hell was he doing with THAT?, i must be too good for him. is this normal or a form of jealousy?

She must have had some good qualities for him to have married her in the first place. I think it's probably normal to look at the ex and think like that. Maybe a little form of jealousy too because you think you do so much more & are so much more independant, so how could a woman like that get a man like yours. Don't worry about it. If you love him and you guys get along well, then enjoy the relationship and forget about the ex.

I'm fat unintelligent and disabled and unable to work as a result so I must really annoy you.
If you are so sad to worry about your boyfriends ex wife and her apparent lack of intelligence instead of getting on with your relationship with him then perhaps it is you who doesn't deserve him? I'm no judge but it seems to me that you have got to stop doing this to yourself and ask yourself why you are with him is it because you want to upstage his ex or is it because you really love him? your comment certainly dosen't seem a normal response to someones ex surely you could have forgotten her and moved on when you started going out with him, I don't see what her being dependant on him has to do with you if he was happy with the situation then it must have been an agreeable situation to him, not every woman these days is completely career mad or career minded, i hope you can forget the past esspecially a past that doesn't really envolve you and move on to be happy and content with your partner good luck.

This is definitely jealousy. If she was gorgeous and financially independant you would feel really insecure or think that she lost him because she didn't spend enough time with him.
You are never going to like your partners ex so try not to spend too much time thinking about it.

women believe that men always go for the same type of woman-the ex was fat and unintelligent so you think that your boyfriend sees you as the same and thats why you are annoyed

you are probably a little insecure yourself...and have found a good example of someone you can use to bring your own levels of security up....makes it easier for you to tell yourself how great you are in comparison...youve already told us that you must be too good for him..i mean no offense i am merely telling it as i see it... this kind of jealousy is usually related to your own insecurity issues...good luck...;0)

yes i would wonder the same thing....i used to always look at my partners (past & present) ex's and see it like a reflection on me. that is not the thing to do! they are broken up for a reason. some one either changed and the other didnt or whatever...but that old relationship is old and yoru relationship isnt....so embrace it!

It sounds like you feel threatened by their past relationship, so its not really about her at all. If you trust him, you have to find a way through it.

it annoys you because she is his ex :) she has impacted on his life... but by the sound of it she is nothing to be jealous of.... you might always resent her... but the best thing to do is try and move on and realise that you are better than that

It's funny, I have the same problem!! I think deep down i think - does my boyfriend have any standards?? Why did he find her attractive?? I suppose you have to think that you are still you, no matter who has seen previously.
