Men are problem-solvers by nature. Most men have labored under a delusion for a long time - that delusion is that somehow or other they can "fix" their girlfriend or wife.
Well, sorry, they can't and you know it, but he DOESN'T. I'd say it's either that he thinks he can "help you deal with your issue" in which case he's being benevolent, if a little nosy. The other possibility is that he's just dying of curiosity. Men have basically turned into women and so maybe he was looking for a gossipy tidbit on you. I'd like to think it's the benevolent thing.
If it bothers you then break up with him - dating is supposed to be fun!

From a guy's perspective...it's to get into your pants (sorry for the bluntness), but it's a trick for you to fall for our 'sensitive' side.
