Hey there :D I have a few hints for you. I've been learning Japanese for just about a 12 months. Rosetta Stone bootleg- sure, bootleg. It's useful, believe me. It taught me hiragana...it teaches you a few elementary verbs. Japanese Demyisified- Great for brand spanking new inexperienced persons and intermidate. Youtube- Full of movies. Go to RanAbvideo :) she's my trainer and fully useful. Dictornaries- while you be trained the "te style" (very similar to how we now have ing" however wait until awhile too additionally to be trained elementary adjective conjugations. You can use google translator later too in the event you pass from Japanese to English. Writing sheets: train with hiragana and katakana. It depends what you mean by too much money. I think you can get lasik (sp?) for a couple hundred dollars.
Other than that, nothing can fix your eyes. Diet is one way to minimize damage, and of course not staring at the sun.
