why can't most people focus?

They haven't been taught how to. People go around with the TV on, earplugs, cellphones, video games, music, noisy cartoons, busy schedules. Focus and concentration is a skill that can be learned, but few people want to bother to do it themselves, or teach their kids how to focus. They'd rather be told they have ADD and take speed.. I mean Adderall.

There could actually be many reasons for the lack of focus you may notice on a daily basis with other people.

A lot of the time they are focused on something else other that whats around them.

I'm surprised more of them don't get hit by cars,
Missing their surroundings staring up at the stars.

A lot of it is actually due to the fact of that life is so dreadful for them, Some people do the same thing every day, at the same time, with nothing else in their lives except a schedual that they live by. Once they become so accustom to it, they lose life, they lose their focus, they nearly go "brain dead" .

A lot of people actually have problems with focusing because of the way their brain works...

Like I said before,
There could be many reasons for this,
It just depends on who in specific we are talking about.

Life total has become so busy and hectic it doesn't allow a lot of folks to stay focussed. Lots of people need to take some time alone to focus on themselves and serious things that are of importance and not concern themselves with the trivial things that lives throws into their paths.

Because they don't care about what you whine about. When someone is bored by someone else's mindless blabbing, the blabber accuses the bored person of being "not focused." Be more interesting and people will focus.
