since the world was repopulated by Abraham, that technically makes us all jewish, does it not?

For the record, a Christian told me this in answer to the bible verse that says only seven hundred seven thousand tribes of the jewish nation will be allowed into the kingdom of heaven

Well, the person you spoke to seems to have their own theology since thats not Christian theology at all. As for the Gentile part, a Gentile was anyone who wasnt Jewish and since there was and is a lot of people who arent Jewish, Id say there's a lot of gentiles. As for the 707,000 tribes, I have no clue where they came up with that number. Revelation tells about 144,000 Jews from the 12 tribes that are in Heaven, but it never says they are the only ones. Just that they were the ones seen coming. Rev 7:9-10 tells us there is a Great Multitude which no man can number who are judged righteous.

The world was repopulated under Noah, so there are separate races and tribes under his 3 sons. Not even all of Abraham's children are Jews, cause Ismael and his sons after Isaac are progenitors of the arabian tribes. There are 2 occurences of 144, 000 being mentioned in the book of Revelation , chapters 7 and 14, that are set apart from the rest of mankind.

Since Jesus started a new covenant with his diciples , there is no need for a separation from jew to gentile in the christian religion.

The world wasn't repopulated by Abraham, it was repopulated by Noah and his sons' families. The Semitic tribes came from Noah's son Shem, from whom the term "Semite" is derived. Since we are not all descendents of Shem, by default, we cannot all be Jews.

"Gentiles" are all non-Jewish nations, whether they descended from Shem or not. The Arabs are an example of a people with Semitic roots, but they aren't Jews since they are not also descended from Abraham's grandson, Jacob.

I've read the Bible many times and do not recall a reference to 707,000 tribes getting into heaven. JWs believe that the reference to 144,000 Jews in Revelation pertain to certain JWs, and these will be the only ones to reach Heaven, which is absurd. I'd say the person with whom you were speaking was quite confused.

Actually the world was repopulated by Noah and the Hebrews(Jews)--Abraham was the first to be called a Hebrew---came from Noah's son Shem, but there were alot of other descendants of Noah who weren't Hebrew .....
Alot of what the Bible says of numbers is symbolic... 7 is symbolically used alot as is 12
In Revelation it speaks of the end when there is an uncountable number of jews and gentiles in heaven...remember that alot of numbers are symbolic!

There's so much more, but I hope that helps!

The word Hebrew actually comes from Eber who was a descendant of Shem (Gen 10:21)

The word "Gentile" means other nations. At one time God had a chosen nation, the Nation of Israel. All other nations were gentiles and were outside the promises of God. Ephesians 2: 12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: The Lord Jesus Christ came to earth to set up a kingdom for Israel and He was to be their King. They rejected him and had Him killed and when they rejected the Holy Spirit they were blinded and they fell.Romans 11: 25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. Today in the age of grace, God is deal with all people alike because the Lord Jesus Christ died for all that would believe and trust in that. Galatians 3: 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

After the flood there were only eight people, Noah and his wife, and his three sons and their wives. From Noah to Abraham there were ten generations, each son having kids etc. God separated out a nation when he called Abraham out of the country of his father, Ur of the Chaldees where modern day Iraq is. He made a nation unto himself and promised Abraham that all nations would be blessed in his seed, singular, who is Jesus Christ. Today the Israel of God is all those who are in Christ, the promise.

yes there are still gentiles however Christians are considered to be grafted into the Jewish faith through Jesus who is a Jew!
you must have been talking to a jehovas witness who are taught erroniously that (you got the no"s wrong )
The bible refers to the number of those who were sealed: 144,000
However this is not in reference to those who will be saved but to jewish evangelist who will be on the earth during the great tribulation spoken of in Revelation here we are even told from which jewish tribes they will come
Revelation 7: 4. 4. Then I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel.
5. From the tribe of Judah 12,000 were sealed, from the tribe of Reuben 12,000, from the tribe of Gad 12,000,
6. from the tribe of Asher 12,000, from the tribe of Naphtali 12,000, from the tribe of Manasseh 12,000,
7. from the tribe of Simeon 12,000, from the tribe of Levi 12,000, from the tribe of Issachar 12,000,
8. from the tribe of Zebulun 12,000, from the tribe of Joseph 12,000, from the tribe of Benjamin 12,000.

the next verse tell us about the rest of the folks in heaven

9. After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.

so the one who told you that does not know his/her scripture

Where do you get that the world was repopulated by Abraham? It was Noah and his family who repopulated the world after the flood
