Definitely don't feed her when she's throwing a fit! My advice is to put her on a raw vegan organic diet. That way she can eat all she wants and yet she won't have a weight problem. It's the healthiest and most sustainable way to eat. My friend has a great restaurant and web site where you can learn more. On a personal note, I have an older sister who always ate like a pig, too. She got huge and really really MEAN! Food consumption can be just another form of of selfish greed!

Without knowing the child's age, I can only suggest that she is testing her parents. She could be in a growth spurt, in which case the constant hunger is real, and weight gain is appropriate, since she will be growing in all directions.
Perhaps she is bored and needs to be taught to find activities to occupy her attention. Eating is one of the first and easiest things humans do to feel pleasure, but it is not healthy to overeat.
More information would be needed to determine whether the child is truly hungry or using food as a pacifier.

If it is a health risk that you are worried about, then the mother needs to put that over her childs wants. So she throws a fit? Put her in her room and let her throw a fit. By giving into a child everytime they throw a fit only teaches them how to get what they want regardless of what is good for them.

Eat three meals a day and possibly a snack in the afternoon or while watching TV at night. Fruit is great for snacks. Let her throw a temper tantrum, she will get tired sooner or later. It is for her own good. Don't kill her with kindness by giving in to her little fits.

Depends on how old she is.
If she is really young she is just behaveing
that way because she can.
Take her to the doctor to make sure nothing medical is going on.
Make sure she has three well rounded meals a day.
And give her a time out for the fits she throws
eventually she will see she wont get her way and tire herself out.

Yeah feel her healthy stuff, she is growing, what can you do? But never give in to her demand, make her understand that throwing the fit is not getting her the food, once she figures it out that she can manipulate you... she will!

How old is she? Take her to the pediatrician for a check-up. Something could be physically wrong with her.
