something. What have you taken away from having cancer? I'm still trying to figure mine out but just curious about others if willing to share.

This is going to sound corny, but I learned to live every day as though it is my last. I've learned to slow down and appreciate the small moments in time. I've learned that it is better to spend time playing with my kids rather than picking up after them. I've learned that I need to give my husband a peck on the cheek every time he squeezes by me in the kitchen instead of fussing on him for being in the way. I've learned that prayer is soothing to my soul. I've also learned that no matter how bad off I think I am, there is someone out there in a situation that is worse than mine.

Just take away the opportunity that you have loving family members and are very appreciative of their support for you. Hey you got someone that loves you. I myself have never had cancer but I have had numerous family members that have had. My mother had a cyst and they thought it was cancerous but wasn't. I just thank god every day that she is still here.

I learned how much I could take, and when to let people close to in for help.

I suppose you'd take a good look at your priorities. You'd probably be able to see clearly what's important and what isn't.
