Don't forget Chicken Kara-age! It's a very fun and accessible dish. It's kind of like Tempura Chicken, but it has more of a fried chicken flavor.

300-400 g chicken leg meat
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon Japanese sake
3-4 tablespoons flour
1 tablespoon curry powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper, paprika, or other seasoning

1. Cut chicken meat into a bite sized pieces.
2. Sprinkle a teaspoon of salt and a tablespoon of Japanese Sake on the meats, knead them, and leave it about 30 minutes.
3. Sop up the Sake with paper towels and put the meats, all spices, and flour into a plastic bag.
4. Knead the plastic bag until all spices and flour cover all meats.
5. Fill a pan with vegetable oil for deep frying and heat it up with middle flame. When the pan is heated up enough, put the meats into the pan.
6. If your pan is big enough(about 30 cm diameter), you can put them all at once (Don't put only a few pieces; it will make only the surface of meat char).
7. Notes: If you see bubbles as soon as you put a wooden chop stick into the oil, this is too hot. If you see them after 2 seconds, it's just the right temperature. After deep-frying the meat about 7~8 minutes, make the flame stronger.
8. When the chicken fried beautifully brown, take them out of the pan onto paper towels.
9. In addition If you sprinkle lemon juice on the chicken, it tastes better.

D is for Daddy hit on a good choice. But my Rice Crispie Treats has 4 ingredients in it so it would qualify. RICE CRISPIE TREATS 5 cups rice crispies 1 (7 oz) container marshmallow creme 1/2 cube of butter (1/4 cup) 1 tsp vanilla Place the 5 cups of rice crispies in a large bowl. Place the butter in a pan and turn on the stove to medium. As soon as the butter is totally melted, add the marshmallow creme and mix until they are totally combined and the marshmallow creme has melted. Add the vanilla, stir, and then pour the mixture over the rice crispies. Stir the mixture well and pour into a cake pan that you have lined with aluminum foil. Smooth it out until the top is flat. Let cool. When it's cool, cut it into squares. She could practice at home and bring in the ones already made and cut for each person to enjoy. Then she wouldn't have to wait for them to cool in the pan even though it won't take long. She won't need to use any equipment other than the stovetop so she should feel more secure.

Tamagoyaki (Japanese Omelet) Recipe
2 eggs
1 tsp of sugar
1 tsp of soysauce
1 tsp of vegetable oil
1 tbsp of dashi soup stock
Beat eggs in a bowl.
Add sugar, soup stock and soysauce into bowl with eggs and mix well. Put vegetable oil in an omlete pan, so then the omlete will not stick to the pan. Turn down the heat and pour 1/3 of the egg mixture in the pan. Spread the mixture evenly on the pan. When the eggs is almost cooked, roll it toward the top end of the pan.
Move the omlete toward the bottom of the pan.
Pour 1/2 of the remaining egg mixture in.
Quickly raise rolled omlete and spread mixture under it. When new layer is rolled, shape it into a rectangle.

This is one of my favorites

Tempura - Seafood and vegetables deep fried in tempura batter
Tempura was brought to Japan by the Potuguese. Today Tempura is a very popular Japanese food, and as well one of the best known outside of Japan.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ingredients:

Tempura batter mix*
Tempura dipping sauce*
Prawn: raw and large
Seafood: almost everything is possible
Vegetables: pumpkin, carot, sweet potatoe, eggplant, and more
Mushrooms
and much more to try.
* This ingredient may not be available in Western supermarkets, but you should be able to find it in Japanese grocery stores that exist in most large European and American cities.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Preparation:

Prawn: Remove the head and the shell. Make little cuts on the inside of the curved prawn since they look nicer if their posture is straight.

Cut the vegetables in about 1cm thick pieces.

You can use whole mushrooms.

Mixtures: Cut various ingredients in small pieces and mix them together, eg. green onion, prawn and carots.

Mix Tempura flour with the amount of water described on the package. Do not mix it completely, but leave some small lumps in it.

Cover all the ingredients completely with the batter.
Mix also the mixtures made of the small cut ingredients with batter, and try to deep fry it together. Don't let them fall apart in all the pieces.

Deep fry at 180 degrees celsius. Be careful, and do not use wet ingredients because the water would react strongly with the hot oil, which may harm your skin or eyes.

When the Tempura pieces are beautifully golden, take them out, and try to remove as much oil as possible.

Okay, here's a really easy, fast, cheap recipe for Miso Soup. You can easily multiply it for more quantity. This is for 4 servings. You can get miso paste in a natural food store or perhaps the ethnic section of your grocery store.

Heat up 4 cups of water to almost boiling. Add 4 Tablespoons Miso paste (any kind). Stir to disolve. Add any or all of the following: sliced scallions, very tiny carrot sticks (like toothpicks), cubes of tofu, spinach or cabbage, snowpeas etc...

You can keep it warm in a thermos or on low in a small crock pot, or if you can reheat it do that and serve it in paper bowls or styrofoam cups. Enjoy!

Heck yeah there are!!!!!
There's Yakisoba, you can buy the noodles at your nearest supermarket and add meats like steak or chicken or stir fry vegetables to it. There's also tempura and that's deep fried, so I don't know if you're much into deep frying stuff.
For a class project I would recommend the Yakisoba because it's SOOOO easy to make and it's SOOOO delicious.
