got to love Mary O's reply

But to elaborate depends on what branch he is / was in there are tests trials where the wife CAN make use of the members GI bill but seriously it is hard enough for the actual member to get it paid in a timely manner why on earth do you think you should have it / use it...................basically its one of the FEW actual retirement benefits left to the members after their 20 odd years in.

And to repeat what was stated above YOU are not entitled to a damm thing from the military, no medical, no shopping etc.

First you are not married to the man. You may be common law but the military does not consider that to be married. Second IF you were married he would have to be an E-5 and be on his second enlistment. Third IF you were married HE would have to reenlist again and in his reenlistment papers he would have to state something along the lines of

I JOE BLOW WISH TO GIVE ALL (OR STATED PART) OF MY MONTGOMERY GI BILL TO MY WIFE JANE BLOW.

If he has children he can give them some too but the requirements of him stating it in his reenlistment still stands.

Once the GI Bill is transferred the spouse or child has to use the GI Bill within 10 years after the Military Member gets out.

Current regulations only allow for the GI Bill to be transfered to dependents of a military member that dies in combat.

No, you can't use his GI bill, that is only for people who have served in the military.

Not unless you are married, and your b/f knows this tell him not to be playing you for a fool. You are not even entitled to any of his benefits if you are married.
