The long standing joke is a illegal will appear on a court date. This guy had two priors been deported twice at least, his mom (or family) posts a $5000 bond for a crime with a 10 to 20 year sentence, suprise he's a no show. That DA and judge should explain how that happened. A American would have to post half a million to get out w/ priors and that charge.

A bond that low for a person (legal or not) charged with a felony carrying that long of a sentence, who has ties to a foreign country to which he's twice been deported ( = flight risk). The bail was set laughably low. I hope the voters in your town remember that the next time that jackass judge is up for re-election.

One of the four great propositions passed here in Arizona last November, was to deny bail to illegal offenders charged with felony's.It makes a lot of sense because they are a great flight risk.See what happens to an American if hes arrested in Mexico for anything..Its not pretty.

Yet another reason we should have secured our borders years ago. This nonsense will not end until we stop illegal immigration. They are dangerous to our society and our way of life.
As to your question, they shouldnt have any PRIVILEGES anyways. They are NOT U.S. citizens and are ILLEGAL. He should not get bail and he should get a stricter punishment just because he is illegal. Any illegal immigrant should be punished here and then transferred back to where they came from. Or just throw them on the other side of the fence once we have a wall and guards in place. This crap makes me sick. The western U.S. is a horrible place to live right now mainly due to illegals.

They should be held without bail since they are a flight risk - they do it all the time (e.g., Armando Garcia fled to Mexico after killing a cop.)

The post that indicated the "catch and release" program has been stopped is wrong. They may CLAIM it's stopped but they still do it.

The judge blew it. Usually bail for that charge with priors should have been $10-20,000, and if he was a flight risk (as he obviously was) he should have been held without bail.

Bail is decided by the judge -- blame him if you don't like what happened, not the suspect.
This guy's family lost their $5k -- think they're happy about that?
Oh, and your statement about what an "American" would have to post is entirely inaccurate. Many suspects get released on OR even when they're facing 30-year sentences. The judge decides the likelihood that they'll show up, and sets bail (or denies it) accordingly. The process should stay that way, but perhaps smarter judges should be elected...:)

An illegal is not a citizen, and should not be given such privileges, an illegal is a criminal anyway and under no circumstances should be allowed bail.

absolutely...the media and Homeland Security reports that the "catch and release" program for illegals has been stopped....this is NOT TRUE - it was stopped for everyone except Mexicans....http://www.dhs.gov

There was a recent study that shows most illegals are arrested 6 times before deportation.. (when I find site again I'll post) our governments (local, state & federal) are selling out middle-class Americans...goose that laid the golden egg?
