It is in Michigan....

He was told that he would be taken to jail, for a long time...he was expecting it eventually...just not today, and they went out on a lunch break then he left.

That is a crime; harboring and aiding a fugitive and hindering prosecution...

Tell your friend to turn himself in. He WILL get caught eventually, and he's only making it worse...

Yes you will be arrested for guilty by association, you may not get the same length of punishment as your friend but you will spend time behind bars, or if it is a first felony for you, maybe long hours of community service. Your best bet is to avoid the situation.

Absolutely! You can be convicted of Obstruction Of Justice for one. You may also be convicted as an Accomplice to whatever crimes he has committed (including what he was convicted of, not just the escape). The best thing for you to do is to go to the cops NOW and tell them what happened. Cover your own butt NOW.

They ALL went on a lunch break? Where was the court officer? This guy escaped, period. He's adding time on top of time now. AVOID him!

Look just by discussing it here you are conspiring to aid the escape of a felon.
This is not a free country Papa Bush is watching you now and is coming to interrogate your sorry a-ss.

Yes you most certainly can get arrested. It's called aiding and abbeting. I think you need to find a new group of friends.

Bottom line is that you MUST deny that you know anything about his record. If you are confronted by the law, You must comply or you are considered to be "aiding and abetting"
