from what i have understood of your faith , trinity is something important , and every christian must believe in it . I have just posted a question about trinity , and ppl have given me different answers in the way they understand the trinity . a lot of christians claim that Jesus chris is the son of god and God himself . and in the bible there a lot of verses which talks about the father . if Jesus the son and the father at the same time , why did he pray to the father 'Jesus prayed to his Father in the words of Psalm 31:5: '
'Father, into your hands I commend my spirit” (Lk 23:46). '

if he is a part of the trinity which means he is a God .. why did he ask the father to forgive '' Luke 23: 34 - Jesus said, "Father forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." he could've forgiven them without asking the father , isnt he a part of trinity which means he is a part of what forms God .

please post your answer .. no hate and no racism,

You pose a terrific question. I am a christian but believe that the Trinity doctrine is unscriptural. Trinities predate Christianity. There were triune Gods in many ancient cultures, including Egypt.

The examples you cite are excellent. I would add

a) If God the Father and God the son are one... who resurrected the Son and at who's right hand does he now sit?

b) Why did he tell Mary Magdalene after his resurrection that he was ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God"???? (John 20:17)

(c) The basic premise of the Trinity is that you have a co-equal triad... God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost. Was Jesus then seriously confused when he put himself in an inferior position and said at John 14:28 that "the Father is greater than I am" or at John 12:49,50 "I have not spoken out of my own impulse," he said, "but the Father himself who sent me has given me a commandment as to what to tell and what to speak. . . . Therefore the things I speak, just as the Father has told me them, so I speak them."

Finally, why was he accused of blasphemy for saying he was "God's son" and not for saying he was "God?" I mean if you're going to identify yourself wouldn't you give yourself the most authority possible.

I hope that helps you out.

Jesus not only came to die on the cross, but also to show people how to live. When He prayed to His father, He was setting the example like any good parent does. You can look back to Genesis and see that God rested on the 7th day. God didn't need to rest, but he did to set the example for Adam and eve.

Jesus also prayed to God to using the phrase Abba, which if you go back and look at old testament, people never used Abba which means Father or daddy. Many were even afraid to call God by name, but Jesus made the relationship with God personal, so everyone else could have the personal relationship with God.

Go back and read the prophecy of Jesus birth in Isaiah 9.
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

He is called mighty God and Everlasting Father.

Also refer to Daniel 7:13. It is talking about the son of man coming with clouds. This is the prophecy of Jesus' return. That is why Jesus called himself the Son of man. If you look back to the culture of the Jewish people, If Jesus had come right out and said He was God, they probably would have killed Him because they were almost superstitious about God's name and everything that goes with it. He knew exactly how to explain it to them and that was with scripture. That is why Jesus many times called Himself the son of man.

Don't forget all of the miracles that were performed and the transfiguration, and the people that saw Him after he had arisen. Only God can do that. God is the only one that has power over death and the grave. He did give that power to the apostles as a sign for everyone.

The best way I have heard the trinity described is that my husband is a husband, father, and son. Three distinctly different people but the same person.

There is so much more, but I hope this is a good start for you.

If you want a concise definition of the Trinity that is accepted unanimously throughout orthodox Christianity, then I would suggest reading the Athanasian Creed. Because, sadly, many Christians don't know what they believe or why they believe it.

One thing you need to realize, however, is that the Trinity doesn't mean the Father and the Son are the same identical person. Rather, they are distinct. The Father is not the Son, nor is the Son the Father. What the Trinity states is that the Father and Son (and the Holy Spirit) are one in being, not one person.

There's some websites in the "sources" section that may help you apprehend this subject more succinctly.

The Trinity - Father/Son/Holy Spirit.

3 distinct entities. God is the Father, Jesus Christ was the son in the flesh, and the holy spirit is simply that.

Read the Bible a little more and don't rely on people's interpretations - that would be the only way to clear the confusion.

Good question, in any case.

God is a tri-union God, He is three in one. God the Father, God the Son & God the Holy Spirit. They are three distinctly different persons of the same God. They are in perfect harmony with on another, they perfectly complement one another and are always in perfect agreement.

They have always existed together since before the begining of time and will always be. They are seamless and this is why we can and should understand the trinity as one.

When the Jesus (God the Son) entered into our History, he also became man so that He could claim back from the power of death Satan that which God had always intended to be ours, our authority and victory over death and Sin. Jesus is our salvation and will one day be our judge.

These victories are achieved in our lives by the power of God the Holy Spirit, who guides us through all our daily trials and tribulations. The power of God's Holy Spirit works in those who have recieved God the Son as their Lord and Saviour.

The Trinity - Is God The Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit

They are as one- working together as one.

The trinity is not something that can be fully grasped by our finite minds. In the Bible we read that God is God the Father. We also find out that Jesus Christ is the son of God, and he is God. We also find out that the Holy Spirit is God. We also find out that there is only one God. Confused yet? Jesus was temporarily submissive to the father so that he could fulfill his divine purpose which is to extensive a subject to go into detail on here, but it has to do with the idea of covenant. Not real detailed I know, hope it helps a little though.

Look at the trinity this way: In business you have the people who actually own the business and the workers. So, in the business of the trinity, you actually have three individuals who all think exactly the same way, so no matter who decides what, the same decision will be made by all. Three minds all thinking as one. You have the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. They all agree, they all think the same way; when Jesus came to earth to die for us in the perfect sacrifice, they all agreed it was the only way for humankind to be saved from themselves. When Jesus prayed to the Father, he was praying to the Father; when he asked Father to forgive those who had sacrificed him, he was talking to God and when the Holy Spiriti descended upon the believers, it was the Holy Spirit. Three minds all connected together, all thinking as one.

Jesus and the Holy Ghost are the only two entities to have achieved perfect oneness with God. Jesus is the only one to have been born into the flesh. Everything comes through God the Father.

I personally dont believe in the trinity. One reason is, how can you have a spirit holyer than God. God is Spirit.. Jn.4:24.
The Holy Spirit is God. This is the Spirit that Jesus was given while on earth. Jn 1:32.
Now understand that God is Love and offers forgiveness to those who truely repent (turn away from) thier sins... so when Christ is dying He is praying that the Spirit of God will move in the hearts of the people who crusified Him and convict their hearts and enlighten them to what they have truely done in hopes to ask forgiveness and accept Life. He is not asking for a god to forgive these men He is asking God to help these men know God through Christ.
