Give it to charity. Having a car seat is better than having no car seat at all. Plus, it passed the government standards.

Toss it!!!!
I also have the evenflo discovery and that is what I have already done. The company has decided to stand by it's product even though they failed at the same speeds and conditions that the government standards are supposed to entail. They are refusing to take any returns, or allotting any credit to those who have purchased their product.
If you donate it to charity then someone might use it not knowing that it failed the recent tests. Just as you don't want to use it and put your child at risk don't allow someone to unknowingly put their child in danger.
Please throw it out and help prevent the possible senseless injury or death to another baby. It is ridiculous to say the giving it to charity is best because a bad car seat is better then none. When you have a child you now have to physically show them a car seat to get your child released from the hospital. So people will find a way to get one if the want their kid. Not to mention that there are numerous charities that help new parents obtain car seats for free or at a discounted price.

From what I hear, there are only 2 car seats on the market right now that actually passed the crash tests. And surprise, surprise, they are both the most expensive ones around. I'm having a hard time with all of this because now my husband is quite scared about our car seats (which did not pass the tests), but what do we do? Get rid of the ones we have and buy the expensive ones just to be a little safer or what? Shouldn't they all have had crash tests before they were even put out on the market? I don't understand it. Well, sorry, I guess I can't really answer your question because I'm in the same situation.

I bought one for my son. When I heard that I threw out the seat, but kept the stroller. Most of the other Evenflo seats will fit the strollers. I wouldn't risk it. I figure a baby's life is worth more than $100! Trash It!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even at the bottom of the list it stated that no matter what--even if you use the car seats listed--that having a car seat is better then not. I'd donate it to charity. These people can't even afford a car seat let alone the expensive ones listed.

Hold on to the carseat and contact evenflo about it. The consumer reports folks are urging a federal recall of the seat, so if they get that, you might get a free replacement. Hopefully, the new one will be good.

oh man-I read that same report a couple days ago--& the car seat we have is the evenflo discovery also
according to the consumer reports report--they only did the test according to one or two standards though.
Evenflo gave their feedback about it.
we're going to get rid of ours though and get another.

I have the Britax Companion which was suppose to be one of the best in the Market and it failed. I think you call and see what Evenflo has to say about it. I'm calling Britax. I think if the carseat is installed correctly we shouldnt worry.
