Once you are a citizen of the United States you may apply and take the test. The requirement is that you are a citizen, not that you've been a citizen for any certain length of time. If you have any questions go to:

http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/border_security/border_patrol/

This is our official website.

I don't know how it is possible for you to become a citizen and not know the answer
Citizens of the USA can apply for any job they wish as soon as they are citizens or qualify for a job
even a short buss citizen such as yourself
OUR test must be to easy
Welcome New American without a hyphen

Honestly I hope you don't get to, there is no way any new citizen needs that kind of responsibility right away. I hope there is some clause where you have to be a citizen for a minimal of 5 years.
