in pratice such areas often have fairly cloudy climates and thus don't get as much sunshine as you'd think on the ground. Except for deserts of course.
last time I looked, Los Angeles had 3'400 hours of sunshine a year, and that's pretty high (it is 2.4x more than London).
as for deserts, I had read somewhere that Eastern Sahara gets over 4'000 hours of sunshine a year. That's a bit more than LA, but LA has got to be a much nicer place to live!

The poles get the most sunshine of any in the world but the ice reflects it back into space. Thi sis why you need shade sin snowy or places covered with ice.

i think it will be the deserts especially in the gulf areas and other dry and arid areas.. also the intensity of sunshine with temprature will be very high..
