Never ever put metal in a microwave oven. Use either plastic bowls or glass that says they are good for a microwave. Microwaves cook by heating through things from the inside out and cannot do this through metal. You are lucky that you did not cause a fire in the microwave and the smell may have come from that.
I would be very careful with using the microwave as it may have been damaged.
As far as the stuffy nose open and air the house for 15 minutes and if your nose is stuffy still call the doctor and see what he says.

not a good idea to ever put metal in the microwave... it could fry your microwave. I do not know if it will poison you or not but your nose is probably stuffy from the burning smell.

Depending what that pan is made of and the coating, yes.
Teflon coating can be bad for you if its heated to a very high temp. It will give off a slightly metallic smell, and you will be coughing for a bit (a few minutes). I would recommend that you throw out the pan and don't do that again.

No. If your microwave still works you need to let it sit outside the house for a few hours so that you do not have to continue to smell it. FYI you are not supposed to put anything in the microwave metal, aluminum foil, silverware,etc..

Yes. The convection system uses a different operating system than the microwave - no sparks. You can also use a metal pan in combination mode. Have fun cooking your favourite meals in less time. My very popular roast chicken is always cooked in a metal pan, with metal drip tray in my convection oven :)

Call your doctor. At work someone also put aluminum pan in micro-wave, it burned to shreds and stank up the whole place, but nobody suffered any consequences, well the boss did, he had to buy a new microwave.

It can be...depending on the metal pan. This is one reason why you DO NOT put metal in a microwave. Nor do you put Styrofoam in there. They release toxins when the radioactive waves penetrate them. ALso consider yourself lucky you didn't start a fire with the metal in it.

Simple - don't ever put metal in a microwave...
Should actually be in the instructions... I've started a fire or two just by putting burgers with aluminum wrapping in a microwave.

Yes! You're not supposed to put metal in the microwave - it overheats the metal. You should go get checked out at the emergency room!
