Isn't the flag correctly displayed with the blue field on the left?

Well Bill, Im glad you asked. I happen to be in the service myself. Many of my Army counterparts have in fact told me that the reason for this is that when the flag blows in the wind this is the way they are trying to portray it on the service uniforms. So when a soldier is running into battle it represents the colors of the United States of America. Thank you for the question Bill.

If the blue field was on the left, it would potray a retreat, since that is the way the flag would be blowing in the wind. It it displayed on the left on military uniforms as if soldiers were running into battle.

The American Flag is displayed backwards, so that when troops march with the flag, all flags are moving in the same direction. I was confused about it myself and that was the answer I got.

The blue field always faces forward. On the left shoulder it would appear on the upper left. On the right shoulder always on the upper right..
