The last thing you want to do is smother him. Let him have his time with the boys and you have your time with the girls. You also don't want to build your life around him because if it doesn't work then you will feel lost not knowing what to do with your time. You can also ask him politely to set some time to the side for just the two of you.
Having a life together and separate is always the best way to go

Do you mean, he's always with his boys? Maybe you could ask him to help you with your English, then you could get to know him better and improve your language skills!
