Is there a way I can scan a document and then change it? I don't want to have to type out the whole thing.

Look to see if the software that comes with you scanner has an OCR (optical character recognition) package. This will let you convert the scanned page into a regular text document.

If not, search on Yahoo or Google for "ocr software" -- a lot of the software publishers have trial software that will let you use the program for a week or two.

No unless you want to pay for some expensive OCR software! Once you scan a document, its saved as an image file and is no longer recognized as a text file!

Check this link for a FREE OCR program. As most have mentioned, it most likely won't convert perfectly, but at least it will get you off to a good start.

OCR is worth a try.
In my experience its good, but its not perfect (i's become l's, B's become 8's, etc.).
But its worth a try, you'll just have to proofread it very carefully.
