Kidney stones are very painful. Call your doctor and let him know how much pain you are in or go to the emergency room. Patients have a right to adequate pain relief.

All of the answers are very good, the beer is right, same happened to my husband on doctors orders. If you have taken all of your pills in 3 weeks, that's a lot of pills. Go back to him and tell him they don't work, you need to rest. There's got to be something better he can prescribe. You need to tell him, if he doesn't know he can't help you. Don't go about suffering, you have a right to be relatively pain free.

I also have a very large kidney stone. I take 25-40 7.5 loritabs a week. I think askig for a refill after three weeks is to be expected. Good luck.

One needs to be careful of all drugs to not get hooked on them. Has your prescription ran out yet?
Call the doctor tell him/her that the pain is not subsiding. Your doctor knows you more then anyone out here does and they know what a addict looks like.
Pain effects sleep patterns, eating etc.
Good luck and hope everything works out OK.

Doctors are my pet peeve. I'll bet he didn't tell you that stones are caused (usually) by inability to process calcium and that by adding vitamin D to your diet will help the body use calcium. Then you wouldn't get the stones and thusly not need him or his pills. On a lighter note, my uncle's doctor prescribed 2 beers every evening and he passed every stone before it got big enough to cause pain.

I couldn't just sit around and do nothing like my doctors suggested.

They didn't want me to do anything or to take herbs or herbal remedies, but I had to try something - they just wanted me to do dialysis!

This program allowed me to take control of my health. I went from Stage 4 to Stage 3 kidney disease.

It was easy to do and my BUN, creatinine and anemia are all in better ranges.
