The Bible is not clear on what it will be like during the rest of eternity with God our Father, His Son, and the Holy Spirit. However, my viewpoint on this, I believe heaven will be more radiant, the colors will be 1000 time clearer, and we shall live life as we do now, but without the violence, the tears, sickness, etc., etc.
I believe that we will be able to visit others upon the second we think of them. Get a copy of the movie "Made in Heaven" with Timothy Hutton. I don't agree with how they come back to earth as someone else though. But, I think that is what heaven will be like in many ways.

There's a killer jazz band on the third level dining platform, and karaoke from 6:30 till 11. I hear they have a form of lasertag with some of the guest animals. Even some deer and elk. They 'play dead' for the fun of it, then congratulate the hunter on a great shot.
And Laptop Jesus, don't be so sure about Tolkien. He and Lewis were friends, and his trilogy has a lot of Christian theology in it.

In heaven, we will serve God (Rev. 7:15).
In heaven, we will be given rest from our labors on earth (Rev. 14:13
In heaven, we will sing praise songs along with all the rest of God's creation (Rev. 5:13).
In heaven, we will worship God along with the angels and redeemed people from every race and background (Rev. 4:9-11; 5:11-13; 7:9-12).
Another draw of heaven is our anticipation of continued and unhindered life, and ultimate reunion with Christian loved ones who've gone before us and will come after us (1 Thes. 4:14-18).
Heaven is a place of great joy and pleasures for the redeemed (Psalm 16:11).

God knows our hearts and He has prepared a place for us. The good things in this world are just a glimpse of what heaven will be for His chosen. We have to make sure our hearts are right in regards to His Son Jesus Christ or your question will no longer be a concern...

The amount of things to do are only limited by the persons imagination and creativity. Much like here on earth.

I seriously don't think Heaven is a boring place. If it were, who would want to go? I think Heaven will have things that we love, like fishing, and football, and beaches where you can lay out all day without getting sunburns or skin cancer! I think God knows our hearts, and has prepared a place we can all enjoy!

Your imagination is not a limit to what God has in store for those who love Him and obey. We think Gene Rodenberry had an imagination in creating Star Trek, you will have the time to express your own creativeness, if you so are inclined (and I don't mean for entertainment value, either)

The bad news for you Gandalf is that CS Lewis will be there, but NOT Tolkien. :( Oh! And his smarmy son, who didn't like the movie? He'll be in heaven. Kewl grandson? You guessed it - in hell.
Sorry to break the news :(

Heaven is different for each person. I'm sure if fishing and nightclubs are your thing, then there'll be plenty of it in heaven.
