Well the marines and army have infantry, however the airforce police are becoming the infantry of the airforce. Deploying all of the time. They work with other branches as well.

In the American Army only about 10% of the soldiers are "combat arms" Infantry, Artillery, Armor, etc. The remaining 90% are support troops.

Company? 120+
Battalion? 600+
Brigade? 3000+

I'm in an infantry battalion but I'm not infantry. I'm an Armor officer.

Infantry is an MOS, not a unit.

There are about 40,000 to 50,0000 US infrantry in Iraq right now. Those are the guys that actually go out and fight the insurgents/terrorists. The rest are in the rear with the gear.
