you might need a personal assistant to be your live reminder of things
butm aybe try writing things down on post-its or getting a little voice recorder the docs use to keep track of patient info.
Good luck

Two suggestions: you retain knowledge better when you USE it. The problem with a lot of education is that you learn things just for a lecture, relearn them just for a test, and then never use them again. Trying to use the ideas you've learned in some way will help them stick and stay current in your memory. For example, if you're learning about plant biology, watch the plants around you when you're walking around. See what you notice that relates to what you're learning about.
You can, of course, approximate this by going over your class notes frequently or creating flashcards with the course materials and reviewing those. It's just a little less fun.
In terms of keeping up your enthusiasm for a subject, I've found a few things to be helpful:
- Again, using your knowledge, or fitting what you're learning into what you already know, can keep new material relevant.
- Trying to do practice problems or trying to apply your knowledge to new situations creates a "need-to-know" phenomenon, where you can actually see why you might want to know something.
- In college courses, I sometimes go back to the syllabus, or my notes from the first lecture. This is where the professor often creates a framework for the class, introducing themes, etc that will tie the material together. With the integrating ideas in mind, you can try to figure out how what you're currently learning in the class adds to your general understanding of the topic.
In short, for both your memory and your interest, use it or lose it.

It might be a symptom of some kind of disorder. So I would first contact my GP and present these problems to him/her.
If I'm told there is nothing wrong, THEN I would start doing something about it myself.
Taking notes during lessons, organizing and memorizing them later.
Making a plan/schedule for my home preparation for the next day, and what's important: stick to it even though I'm getting bored!
Be careful always to work on being interested in what you do, don't jump from one thing to another.
Get enough sleep. Sleep in a cold bedroom with lots of fresh air.
Eat healthy food, no junk-food, with a lot of fibres.
Exercise. Running, swimming is fine.

In order to truly learn anything, one must commit information to the long term memory. If you read over something once, it will stay in short term memory for only a matter of a few moments.
Read and reread. Make connections between what you are learning and your own life. As a teacher, I know that students learn better when they can connect what I am teaching with their own life experiences.

keep reading on your current subjects.....training your brain to process and retain information that you read takes practice....this is not something you can do overnight though....read anything you possibly can up to and including food, and shampoo labels....these include a lot of repetitive information so your brain will learn to store repetitive information and this is where the whole process starts....i agree with the recording and playback idea however your brain will process and store information that the eye sees differently from what you hear
