I am a work in progress.i have been on Atkins for a little over 3 months and so far have lost 39 pounds. The first few days are tough but if you hang in there and follow induction to a T, it gets easier. I never have cravings and the first few weeks the weight just seems like it is melting away, My loss has slowed down but it is still coming off, even when the scales don't move i can feel my body changing,I haven't been able to do to much exercising because of an ingrown toe nail, so i feel i am doing pretty darn good, I saw a success video on youtube.com that inspired me. you should check it out.you should also check out ADBB.com it is an online support group with lots of useful info. are you thinking about starting? IM me or email if you are maybe we can support each other.

I was on the Adkins Diet several years ago. I will tell ya, yes, you will lose weigh with it, however, it isn't healthy. I read an article about it today at a health food store. Actually, a high protein diet can cause problems for you later in life. It's best to be on a balanced regimine! If you eat different kinds of foods, you are more likely to not get burned out, and you will be healthier in the long run!

PLEASE just don't. Its not healthy. Yes you do lose weight but then you gain it back plus more once your done. We are fat because of the way we eat. If you change your lifestyle to lose weight and then turn around and think you can go back to eating your normal way you WILL gain all it back PLUS more. They should really cut the word and call it a life style for life program. If you can't stay with the adkins diet for LIFE then do not start it at all.

My best friend used a low carb diet. He lost about a pound a week for about a year, but gained twice the weight back when his girlfriend dumped him.

He finally kept the weight off through a more healthy diet.

My mother tried it as well, and it just made her cranky. She didn't loose any weight at all from it, but she stuck to it for a while. I think she has given it up now.

I would not recommend it. The diet can cause terrible health problems.

I lost 46 pounds in about a year. Didn't maintain the lifestyle and gained it all back.

It's a hard to stick to diet, but it will work if you want it to.
