for a one night stand: looks, of course! for a serious relationship: personality HAS to be a factor, but looks also play a lesser role-you can't sleep with someone you are not attracted to; friends with benefits: looks, definitely. Bottom line: humans (guys AND girls) always go for looks, but for a relationship to have staying power, your personalities have to mesh and you will go for someone who is fantastic but kinda cute over someone who is totally hot but a dolt. hope that helps!

For a one night stand or a fling, the emotional connection isn't really that important so of course how hot they are plays a main factor to me.
As for serious relationship, looks hasn't really been all that important. Personally if i click with someone and they ahve a great personality, sense of humour and the same view on life as me, that makes them drop dead gorgeous to me and i can appreciate them on so many different levels, that is what makes me happy and that's what is important.
You are right though, it does depend on the situation to me at least but personality is important in the long run....u do have to live with that person!

I've almost always gone for personality. Those relationshops usually lasted a few months. The one time I did go for looks it was just a fling. Luckily I've found someone with both that I'm in a serious relationship with now.

Personality - I've gone out with some really hot guys but they were either absolutely infatuated with looking in the mirror or totally braindead.
I think once you meet someone and like their personality they become more attractive to you. Just as you can meet a great looking girl who's an idiot or a meanie and she starts to look less attractive. I don't do one night stands. Not that kinda girl.
I Agree ROSIE - I'm attracted to the meatier guys too! I've always said, "A Man that can make me laugh will have my heart faster than one with big biceps!"

I have gone for both. Women tend to go more for personality, while men are visual people. I am not speaking for all women. One night stands and friends with benefits usually have to require good looks. Serious relationships require both..you want to be compatible physically and mentally with someone you will be with for a long time.

Though looks are important, A personality is a must (if looking for more than a quick fling or one night stand)... looks can fade, but the personality stays. I've been lucky to find both. yea me! *giggle*

I have gone out with people I got to know first at work (personailty) and people I have met in clubs (looks). Personally I need a mix of both as one without the other is only half the story.

Looks only for one night stands. Personality was kinda important in considering them still for that. I don't want a man who is more physically attracted to himself...of course.
For anything with long term potential or even friendship potential, personality is #1. Always.

well im 16 so not as experienced as others on these topics however i have had a number of relationships usually i am very judgmental on appearence as soon as i meet anyone of the oppisite sex however if i go into a friendship with a boy who i do not find sexually attractive then their personality will shine through and on a few occasions things have progressed from their however all my bad realtionships have consited of me choosing stunningly handsome guys n them ending up being right cocky s"i&s! so im happy with a bit of both average looking and a right good laugh xD oxo lv me good look

When I was younger and more foolish I went for looks as I believed that I would be judged by this. But as I aged and matured a women's personality was far more important and I learned that looks will fade over time but a person's personality will be with them forever. As far as examples go there are too many to mention so you will just have to believe me when I tell you this.
