I don't know about the rest of you, but every time I look, there is some moron posting a question like: Why do you kill animals for fun? or Why don't you give an animal a gun and let it chase you around the woods?
But I just thought I'd put up the post for the outdoorsmen/women who respect the sport.
Besides, if I was really trying to make a difference in the hunting a trapping world, I wouldn't sit on my *** and write rediculous statements towards hunters and trappers on YAHOO !
Come on get real, get a life, and for the sake of all thats good, get your *** up out of your chair and go enjoy the outdoors.
Thank You

I'm sorry paloma, but I have to sit in a building stuffed with the majority of my base's weapons cache... So needless to say, I have twelve hours of nothing better to do.

From an avid outdoorsman to another, thank you very much. I couldnt of said it better myself. Some people are just ignorant to why people actually hunt. They act like they have never heard of population control or just the fact that some people actually love the outdoors. I'm in SW Iowa, and the deer population is quite the issue with some people. People call in radio stations bitchin about the deer, when come deer season, their sittin on the couch watchin Days of Our Lives. Mean while i'm out harvesting 3-5 deer a year doing my part to control the population. Anyways thanks!

Uh, do you mean people who ask questions without supplying ANY relevant details? What people are you talking about? What stupid questions? If a person doesn't know something that you happen to know, that doesn't make their question stupid; there are things you don't know, either. Are you talking about this site? Do you mean the non-questions, like jokes and stuff, that people post here? If so, read the Guidelines for this site. Whenever you see violations (like non-questions submitted as questions), click Report It. After you've read the Guidelines, take the quiz, and follow the link to the info on Community Moderation. People can't control what other people do; this is a basic fact of life. But (again, assuming you mean on here), there are Guidelines, designed to preserve this site for it's intended purpose; so we can Report things that aren't appropriate. If you just mean that their writing is incoherent, there's nothing you can do to stop them; either answer as well as you can, or move on. If it's completely unintelligible, report it.

At least it's entertaining to see the differences in the arguments.
The hunters reply with well reasoned discussions of wildlife population control, urban encroachment, the health benefits of wild game, the relative mercy of a clean shot vs a commercial slaughterhouse, appreciation of nature, and the enormous financial and lobbying support that our hunting and fishing crew provide to protect our national wildlife.
The anti hunters talk about how cute the animals are and call us mean.
I had a similar level of discussion this morning with my toddler who wanted a candy bar for breakfast.

The gun grabbers are everywhere. They use every news clip, rumor or tall story to try to make honest, ethical sportsmen look bad.
What they seem to forget is that the animal habitat a.k.a. national forests, game reserves, protected wetlands, national heritage sites, etc that were set aside for conservation was done so by hunters and fishermen and their supporters.
Every year tree huggers run around pouring blood on unsuspecting women wearing fur coats, they spike trees to maim loggers and they block roads to hunting areas.
The people who scream and yell don't buy licenses. They don't purchase tags or stamps.
You take away the money hunters, fishermen and the overall outdoors type spend each year and you will see many more species on the endangered species list. We do more to save wildlife and protect habitat then the tree huggers ever will.

dont let it get to you, and find one of the many other moderated hunting/firearms forums (that have nothing to do with yahoo) to get real info from. this place should have a "for entertainment use only" warning flashing across the page. alot of ignorant kids come here too, there is basically no way to hold anyone accountable here.
and some advice, dont give away your position on the net, you just open yourself up....

Vegetarians come here to harass hunters because they think themselves to be morally superior to meat eaters and have fooled themselves into believing that by eating only vegetables they are not responsible for killing any animals to provide their food.
In truth, more animals are killed when fields are plowed and pesticides are used to provide vegetables than what all the hunters in the world kill with guns.
Hunters do not try to kill every one of whatever animal they are hunting in the areas they hunt, but farmers providing vegetables for vegetarians do just that when trying to protect their crops.
If meat is murder, tofu is genocide...

It's because they think they are better than everyone else. Do like I did, yesterday, and go to the vegetarian section and answer some of their stupid questions.

if you are consuming the animals you kill, that's more acceptible to animal activists than just killing for sport - that's where they see it as cruel. Obviously what they are writing has done what they intended because it got you to react. I would have to say that you are just as guilty as they for writing statements - if you want to promote your sport, you too should be somewhere else and not posting on the internet.
