Yes, because these three versions of opium are all synthesized to patent them, right? Therefore, each molecular structure is altered just enough to change the chemical structure to patent it and therefore, change the biochemical reaction in the body.
Each drug is tested in rats to find out how much can kill a rat. Once this toxic level is figured out, it's called a toxic half life or LD50 for short. Next, they find out with double blind groups of humans, 1/2 taking Glucose ( a known carbohyrdrate for brain function) and the other taking the drug. Thus, they can find out the side affects for short term, and if someone dies, they are not liable because that college student signed the paper work.
Then, it goes through paper work within the FDA, Food and Drug Administration or any other countries guidelines equivelant to the US FDA. Some people working within the FDA are corrupt as they have deep pockets and are paid off by particular pharmaceuticals to achieve dubious results. Once they approve a drug, they can sell it. Even if there has been no human testing such as drugs given to children with no long term testing to find out the long term affects.
There is a false belief, that if something is approved by the government, that it is safe. This couldn't be further from the truth. How many times have drugs been pulled off the shelf for causing death and only to be approved once again under mysterious guidelines that the public never has access to?
Next, pharmaceutical representatives who have never taken anatomy nor required to go to medical school, train doctors on how to administer the new drug.
Unfortunately, the only way you can know if you are allergic to a drug is to report an adverse reaction and they will probably keep track of it in your medical chart, but not always. So, ,the patient sometimes has to remind the doctor due to constant insurance changes resulting in new doctors who sometimes can't keep up.
If you have socialized medical care, such as in Canada, the point is moot, but you still have to keep up with reminding the doctor what you are taking or they will probably give you another prescription without checking what you are currently taking. That mistake can kill you.
FYI, (for your information) each of these drugs are enzyme inhibitors. The action of supressing the bodies ability to replace tissue on a cellular level, causes more damage in the long run, when your goal was to block unbearable pain. People who have been on these types of drugs due to addiction for long periods of time experience severe bone loss and spinal damage. Many suffer liver malfunction.
The fourth leading cause of death is drug interactions from properly prescribed drugs and medical mistakes combined. Once you get into these types of RX Drugs, you must try to make it as temporary as possible while looking for alternative and holistic care so that your body can heal.
The medical paradigm ranks number 37 in the US compared to the entire world. Surgeries and survival through miraculous means are still very high in the ranking, but not disease management.
My advice is to get on a program of cellular restoration. Every molecule mentioned below or componants mentioned in the list, below...come form raw plant foods.
Systemic enzymes for tissue replacement, Carbohydrates for cellular communication, Fatty acids for proper nerve function, anti oxidants for cell defense and repair and a food vitamin/mineral (not synthetic) for the autonomic nervous system, phytosterols for the hormonal system and digestive flora and fiber for the elimination system. all will allow the body to restore, defend, and achieve balance.
All these food molecules are available in raw plant foods, nuts and seeds. Grazing like a cow to obtain them isn't realistic for most people these days. There is a documentary of taking a cross section of diabetics, young and old... black and white... fat and skinny on a raw vegetarian plant food diet and all became non insulin dependent in 6 weeks. No more insulin drug.
Because, not everyone can be shipped to a retreat to do this, supplementation with pharmaceutical grade and standardized food molecules of each componant mentioned is obtainable and does exist.
Once the body achieves balance, there simply isn't any more room for deterioration, disease, and quality of life goes up as you age... not down.
If you would like to listen to medical experts and health care practitioners explain reactions from pain killers such as the ones you've mentioned versus sytemic enzymes and supplementation for restoration of the body... let me know and I'll send the audio link via e mail. There is no mention of product, only generic education.

Codeine dosing information
Usual Adult Dose for Pain:
Initial dose: Individualize dose based on patients prior analgesic experience Maintenance dose: 15 to 60 mg up to every 4 hours as needed Maximum dose: 360 mg in 24 hoursComments: Doses higher than 60 mg have not been shown to improve pain relief and are associated with an increased incidence of adverse effects. Individualization of dose should consider the following:-Total daily dose, potency and specific characteristics of the opioid the patient has been previously taking-Reliability of the relative potency estimate used to calculate the equivalent codeine dose needed-Patient's degree of opioid tolerance-General condition and medical status of the patient-Concurrent medications-Type and severity of pain-Risk factors for abuse, addiction, or diversion, including a prior history of abuse, addiction, or diversion Use: For the relief of mild to moderately severe pain where the use of an opioid analgesic is appropriate.
Usual Geriatric Dose for Pain:
Dose selection should be cautious, generally starting at the low end of the dosing range.

Yes its possible...You may or may not have cross sensitivity's to other analogs of codeine but not all opioids are codeine based......see your pharmacist...and take any prescribed meds with caution, if there is a concern

depends on what you consider an allergic reaction. Often Codiene will make someone nauseous and make them vomit, this is NOT an allergy, it is a simple intolerance. An allergy would involve an itchy rash, or difficulty breathing, and if that is the case with Codiene, it will likely be the case with most opiate based narcotics.
