Went to the video store on Friday Night and my daughter insisted I buy her a sticker from the little machine they have so she put her 50 cents in expecting to get a cute lil strawberry shortcake sticker and out popped and this is no lie a tatoo of Jesus on the cross surrounded by barb wire What the Hell is that? my daughter was completely baffled by this so I then had to make a story up about a mythological person called Jesus was traumatic for us both any ideas on what this is? A sign from God? a cruel joke played upon children by the makers of strawberry shortcake?

I was raised in a christian household am familiar with the crown of thorns and I don't agree with scaring children into believing I am sorry if I offended anyone I just don't agree with the scare tactics used by some organizations my daughter will be able to choose her religion when she is old enough to make an educated choice.

You are doing the right thing to protect your child.
These religious nuts have tunnel vision.
History is full of problems due to interference by those holier than thou and we know best bigots.
The only consolation they are always on the back pedal as their theology constantly has huge holes shot in it.

Jesus makes money, bottoms line he is the churchs best door to door salesman... I don't think it was a cruel joke played by the makers of Strawberry Shortcake, but that of the church.

In the first place, Jesus is not mythological. Many aspects of of His life have been well documented and witnessed by 100's. You are doing your daughter a HUGE disservice by telling her that he didn't exist.
2nd......let's say it was a sign and leave it at that..
3rd.........I agree with you on the barbed wire....not sure what that was supposed to be........unless...was it on His head?.....maybe the "crown of thorns"?..........I can see where that might be mistaken for barbed wire.........kinda, sorta, maybe

Well, ya know, like, I mean everybody's spreading that religious propaganda around. Even Madonna during her show pretends to get nailed to a cross while she's wearing that skimpy outfit. Its like, I didn't know she was an evangelist too! Like, is she with that Jerry Falwell guy? Wow, its like, I think Speaker Pelosi should make a law against it and everything! Sorry about your poor daughter having to be terrorized and everything. I remember once when I was just a kid and I was like shopping with my Mom and suddenly we saw this big scary guy in a bright red suit and everything and I like thought to myself like what is the big scary terrorist doing in the mall and everything......

sounds like you handled it well. But, yes, there is religious propagand everywhere. Even in the computer you are using to post a question in here.
If you go into Word, and type christian, it will automatically "correct" it capitalizing the word. Type in muslim or hindu, and it will show the red squiggly, and in spellcheck advise you to capitalize it. It will not require anything for the word pagan.
It is everywhere, you just have to ignore it. There isn't anything you can do about it.

Geez, you scare your kid instead of saying that it's a tattoo of Jesus. What kind of mother are you. And how dumb do you have to be to realize that you risk what you get when you put your money in those machines. I can't tell you how many times as a kid I tried to get some stupid plastic ring and I always got the goober figure on a stick. If your kid has nightmares, it's your own fault.

I hope you complained to the management, or at least found out who was responsible for the machine. I don't know what I would have said, but my face probably would have turned purple.
I think it's just more evidence that the fanatics are trying to get at people any way they can. That's just sick.

Well, many people have tattoos of crosses and such. I really dont think that is "propoganda" to try to "convert" your child.

Why do you think Jesus story is a myth?
Do you believe Jesus lived at all?
