I've been reading some comments about Zeus. I can't belive that people debate the existance of God along with Zeus. that's stupid
have you seen anyone worshipping Zeus or other mythological "god"??? I've never seen one. i mean Zeus and all those greek "gods" are nothing nothing..
you know how many people worship God - the only true God - i think you don't have any idea!!!

my point is that there's no real facts that zeus was a god - but my God is the one who created the heavens and the earth.

I agree. There is absolutely nothing or no one that compares to the one and only living God. The Father of Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Zeus is a God people worshipped and wrote about before the God you are referring to. (One God or The Trinity) Zeus is known as the God of Lightning, there are many other mythological God's and Goddesses from that time period each responsible for different things. IE) water, wind, earth etc. So anyone referring to Zeus as a single entity. Responsible for "ALL" is misinformed. Zeus has never been known or said to have ruled alone. But all of the various "God's" were indeed worshiped.

Many of our ideas on the appearance of God are based on the Roman conception of Zeus. Also some of the how we worship in a standard order of worship come from an old Greek order of worship and their ideas were based in part on how pagan gods were worshiped. Other than that not much.

What is it that you think is "stupid" about it?
I think you're seriously missing the point. What you wrote here is like saying "Can you believe that some people think that Beethoven was better than Brittany Spears? Brittany sells far more CDs!".
Okay, your additional points make it clear that you simply don't get it. None of the "gods" are real. Any argument you have for the existence of whatever god you believe in applies as well to Zeus, or any other fictional god character.
Are you starting to understand now? If not, look over the responses you got - you got some good, sincere responses to your question that should help you to understand where you're mistaken about this, if you're honest enough to take them seriously.

Millions of people worshiped Zeus at one time. Your God is not the same God worshiped by Catholics, Mormons, Adventist or Greek Orthadox, and is just as mythical as Zeus.

No, a god is a god is a god and none of them are more likely than any other. You don't know that you're worshipping the right god even if one actually exists (highly unlikely). The chances that there is a god is in the infinate trillions. The chances that you're worshipping the right one is the same. Virtually impossible.

I think you missed the point. The point is that people in the past thought Zeus was as real as many people today think their God is. The people of the past realized they were mistaken in their beliefs, it is conceivable that today people are equally mistaken. It is no more possible to prove your idea of God is real or not real than it is to prove Zeus is real or not real. Numbers of believers is not proof since many people have held false views through history.

Um... I'm a Pagan Wiccan and I worship Zeus.
Not right now, though. In the winter, I only work with the Norse pantheon.
Hope this helps. Brightest blessings!

People believed in Zeus back then just like people believe in God now. There is no difference.

What rock did you just crawl out from under? Take a look around you, man. There are many, I repeat MANY who do not take your monotheistic religions as being true. I don't. I'm Wiccan. And unlike your limited point of view, I know the ancient Gods and Goddesses are as real as your sky-father.
