Flowers are always a welcome surprise. Candy....a little dorky. And make the flowers something original....not just roses. Bring daisies, tulips, etc. Something unique.

It still happens, more the flowers than the candy, but it still happens. Nothing wrong with a gentleman bringing flowers.

I wish more guys would!! A girl loves getting flowers. I would! But, I dont know about candy I think I would pass on that.

Flowers are great in my opinion not a corsage of course just a nice bouquet but candy is a little over the top. That's just my opinon. Hope it helps and good luck!

Most don't and they need to. That is so sweet. If you haven't done it yet then do it, she will appreciate it. Especially since no one does it anymore. All people care about is getting layed. It's not dorky!!

I knew a guy who once brought me a dozen long stem red roses on our first date... I thought it was cheesy at the time, but it was a really good date, and I thought he was a really sweet guy because of it.

Well you needn't necessary bring chocolates and flowers on first date...You can be very sweet, tender, educated, spiritual instead
