Hello, I personally do not use self-tanners, however, I do know of 3 women who ONLY use Mary Kay self-tanner. It is inexpensive and, according to them, does NOT turn them orange. Check it out on www.MaryKay.com/tbond61

I tried a lot of self tanners in high school. I also have pretty light skin. My fave is neutrogena spray on. They have a light shade and a dark shade. I always went with the lighter shade. It was never orange, but if you apply unevenly, it cab be splotchy. The hardest places for me were the backs of my legs, knees, and elbows. if you exfoliate your knees and elbows a few hours before, that helps. Also, have a friend apply it to your back half, then lie in your stomach for 45 min or more. Don't forget to wash your hands after applying. Tan palms-yuck.

I know how it feels. I've had trouble too. But I found Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer, medium skin tones. I started using it early on in the summer to get a nice base coat before I started tanning and everyone thought it was from actual tanning or being out in the sun. It has little shimmer particles in it thats very subtle which really doesn't do anything. Oh and it has a nice pleasant frangrance. Well basically i was happy with it. Good luck!

Jergens Natural Glow or Neutrogena Endless Summer
Basically any of the gradual lotions that lets you build your tan over several days. It looks really natural. Oh yeah, and I know that Jergens also makes a face lotion so your tan matches all over.

sorry all topically applied tanners result in the same problem... uneven tones.
remember skin flakes... oils from the skin also keep the toners from adequately absorbing into the skin...
best thing to do is moderate sunlight.
tanners (no matter how much you spend) will result in the same dilemma.
