The lentil burger recipe calls for one egg to be used to bind the
mixture. Is it safe once i have made the burgers to freeze them
then thaw them out and cook them another time? If not does anyone have any suggestions for alternatives for egg for binding the mixture that would be safe to freeze?

Yes its safe to freeze them providing you cook them thoroughly when re-heating. There are many products on the market containing frozen egg.

Perfectly safe to use. When storing burgers in a freezer remember to put a round of greaseproof paper in between each one before freezing as they will separate better without falling apart.

yes this will be safe as long as you cook the burgers for an appropriate time and the centre of the burgers reaches over 100 degrees centigrade.

No definitely not. Nothing to do with the eggs but take the lentils out and bury them in a deep pit immediately. The only proper use for lentils is in Petit Sale

That's not a problem, but they should be used within 3 months of freezing.

By all means yes. I do it all the time, but with ground beef. You also should be able to grill them frozen. They actually cook better, they don't loose as much moisture and hold together better. Good luck...
