It all depends on how overweight you are. There are some people that have done this surgery and it didn't work for them. I know a guy who lost half of himself (he weighs 180 now and lost 175 lbs) but I also know someone who did this and still managed to stay their same size. It is going to take a major lifestyle change, and I think if you can give yourself the initiative to do that lifestyle change, you may not necessarily need to surgery.

Weight loss surgery-like gastric bypass /lap band surgery / stomach stapling and gastrectomy have become very common and very safe now. My cousin got her Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery in India. She has lost more than 65 lbs in 5 months and is very happy with the results. The price for obesity surgery is very less in India. My cousin just paid 25% of the cost she was quoted in America. She got her surgery from a company called Forerunners Healthcare.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines. I have read a lot of their patient stories also. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low cost, as bariatric surgery and weight loss surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that your Obesity surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.

are you over 100lbs over weight? You can also have stomach bands that are less invasive. That way you can reverse it if you get sick. I have 3 friends that had it and it is not pretty. you loose your hair, you have to save to have the excess skin removed and you feel like a rubber person. Your skinn will move like a cats. Be prepared for being sick, not being able to drink, eat certain things, and take vitamins for the rest of your life. IT ISN"T GOOD!

If you cannot effect a permanent weight loss yourself, it is one way to go. Just be aware, it isn't going to change your self image, it will only change your weight. Best person to talk to is a Bariatric physician, he/she can tell you if you are a candidate, and what to expect.

the best gastric bypass is your hand. don't put all that fattening food in your cake hole. your hand is the culprit don't you understand? not stomach, not brain but the hand.
