Im 3/4 native american, Ive also researched christian history, to me they are a paraiah on society, perhaps thats why I hate christians with a passion and will until i die.

Christains like to say the christians of the past are not them, but those that forget history are doomed to repeat it, christians also did the witchtrials the ira cromwells reign of terror crusades, holocaust inquisition, yet they say catholics arent christian theyre pagan, that lie really chaps my hide because i know its a distortion of history, its sickening what christians have done, and what theyre still doing to third world countries, the list for that is much longer than the one I gave.

Anyone doubting the smallpox infected blankets stories, read The Fourth Horseman by Andrew Nikiforuk, or Guns, Germs and Steel (an astounding book) by Jared Diamond. Columbus and the settlers claimed God on their side and the Spanish king invoked the approval of the church as well. Selective memory does not remove from history the fact that this was genocide. And it doesn't matter if it was some time ago.

HELL YES! Effing amazed here, okay I'm being facetious, but truthful. It is true what you stated.

Most of the ppl that answered go straight to defending the christians as if they were, are and always have been saints.
this is so untrue.

The christians raided Native villages, kidnapped every child under the age of 14 and forced them to boarding schools, where they were forbidden to practice anything cultural or speak in their native tongue. This was the christians attempt to cleanse the "savages" of their sinful ways...This is the truth people.

My Great Grandma had many true and sad stories about "button eye's" and how they stole our children in attempt to force the Native race in to crossing over to christianity.

It did happen ppl. Selective memory at it's best here with the christians!

I did not know that happened with the blankets, however with the rest of the crimes committed against the Native Americans I guess one more or one less atrocity doesn't make a huge difference, historically speaking.

I became fed up with christianity partly because of its attitude toward other people. Christians believe that anyone outside of the religion is somehow less human and has less feelings than christians. They justify this attitude by saying "that's what they get for not believing in God; God is trying to teach them something".

I believe that the treatment of the Native Americans, however, was done by the U.S. Government, not the christians.

What are you really asking? I think your question is not about how Christians absolved themselves. You are of the understanding that Christians did the things you talk about. Christians would not do that. People who think they are Christians might do that even in the name of Christ. Not everyone who says they are a Christian are really Christians. The Bible tells me all have sinned .I am a believer and a sinner. You could go talk to a Pastor and he would be able to lead you to an understanding.

It is largely unfair to single out the Christians, the kind of atrocities you describe are common to all monotheistic religions, even that of Ikhnaton in Ancient Egypt. Consider the treatment of the Philistines by the Jews, other than Bible all existing evidence suggests they were a peaceful and quite advanced civilization.

What amazes me is the way that you blanket a whole group of people with the disease of your own prejudice.

Jesus said:
Pray for those who mistreat you.
Love your enemies.
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven.
Where your treasure is there your heart will be also.

Now if someone were really a follower of Christ, how could they be so double minded as to hand out blanket infected with small pox (yes, this did happen) or the other things that you sited.

If they really were Christians why wouldn't they fear the Judgment Seat of Christ where their works on earth would be judged?

No, these atrocities foisted on the Native Americans seem to be acted out by those who had no fear of God, those who did "what they thought was best for them", those who laid up their treasures here on earth (the one who dies with the most toys wins).

Who do those attitudes really reflect? A Christian who is desires to follow Christ's teachings and examples laying up their treasures in heaven or an atheist who has no fear of what happens after they die because there is no judgment to come? I must say that at least Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot and Idi Amin admitted that they were atheists.

A person can call themselves anything they want but just because you put a rock in a bread box it doesn't make it a loaf of bread. Be not deceived, God is not mocked. Whatever a man sows that shall he also reap. And, man looks on the outward appearance but God looks on the heart... and Their lips praise me but their hearts are far from me.

So, here, I apoligize that atheists dressed up as Christians did all of the things that you described. I'm sorry that they didn't have the courage to just say what they believed but hid behind the church and outward garments twisting the Word of God to fit their own selfish, abusive, cruel desires. I'm sorry that they did and continue to spread the poison of their lies drawing more and more off to a hopeless, sad religion called humanistic atheism.

It really doesn't surprise me in the least. Their view has always been, whatever WE do is sanctioned by God, whetever THEY do is evil. It's really quite typical of any group driven by the notion that they are the only correct humans on Earth.

The Red people were the dominant race on Atlantis.
And they too got to the point they wanted to rule the world, and used their technology to overcome other peoples.
The Giant Crystal they had was used for war and backfired, destroying the major part of their civilization.Ezekiel 1:22 KJV only. The Word calls them
the Chittim.
What happened to them is called group karma.
They are supposed to be the teachers of the Whites at this time. But to help them spiritually. They must first
overcome their own material nature to be self-righteous.

Native Americans were ousted by an expansionist government, religion or no. Christianity had nothing to do with it beyond being the primary faith of the offending people. That doesn't mean they were Christians or that it was a concerted movement by the church.
