What’s wrong with me, why do I feel this way?

I know in this day and age it is acceptable to have no strings fun with someone. But I feel it is morally wrong, why is this, when the majority of people find it perfectly normal? Is it because I am a virgin, that I have not experienced sex yet, or is it something else?

You are perfectly normal!!! I have come full circle with this subject and feel the same way now as I did as a virgin. Having no strings attached is fun to those who are curious and dont want to ever commit, but those things eventually taint the relationship when you do find true love and are ready for marriage. If you want someone with the same morals as you, then you need to be that person who you would want to have as a life partner. I would not be interested in marrying a person who has more sexual experience than I have had because it cheapens things. When you experience certain things with your spouse for the first time it is special and creates a memory but if you have done "firsts" with other partners these special times are not as special anymore. Losing your virginity seems to be a big thing but only for those who want something to brag about because thier life is uneventful and empty. There are plenty nonvirgins who arent talking about this because they know it is something that is personal and special when it is done with the one you love rather than a freelance fling. Those who save sex till marriage usually have the healthiest marriages and sex lifes later in marriage because they arent tainted by past actions. And no, I was not a virgin when I married. When I was dating I had the idea in my head "what if there is something better out there that I'm missing?" (very unhealthy thoughts because you will never be satisfied when you think this) I was curious and felt as if I was the last virgin left, but boy was I wrong! The virgins just arent talking, but there are PLENTY out there!

There is nothing wrong with you and you probably feel the way you do because your morals are based on your personal beliefs. Don't let society influence you on what is and isn't acceptable. Your virginity has nothing to do with this at all. Society has put such a burden on being a virgin when the fact of the matter is, wouldn't you want to be with someone who isn't just a "string"? People in this "day and age" are too influenced by what's going on and what the movies and television and magazines are saying. Be yourself and don't give up on what you believe is right.

It could be because your a virgin, you might be scared of how other people will 'judge' you. Personally I think its just how you feel, different people see things through their own perspectives. Maybe your view on the situation is more old fashioned, more moral, it doesn't make you any less of a person, If anything, more of one because your not just going to follow the trend of everyone else. You say the majority of people find it normal, if the majority thought violence was the correct way to settle arguments, you wouldn't neccasarily agree would you. Do what you feel is the right thing to do, not what you think other people think you should do.

You feelin that is morally wrong... is right. The majority of people find it right, because they chose to have those types of relationships in their lifes. Its not o.k. Sometimes our opinions or our values are not with the majority, but you have no reason to feel bad for your decision. Just because the majority does it does not mean it is acceptable. Hold on to what you believe and do not let anyone else's standards change yours. Take care.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with you. I know a lot of people who don't want to have sex with just anyone. I know I don't . There has to be something. there. Just as they always said your body is a temple. And it deserves to be worshiped. If someone is just going to use it. It becomes worthless. You are a 100 % perfect person. Don't feel guilty or change. No it is because you are morally sound. In today's society every image we see says "have fun, be self centered, don't think about anyone else but yourself". Wall street, likes to promote this attitude it sells more clothes, phones everything.

Stay strong, you will be better off. Don't become a Friend with Benefits. What goes around comes around, act loose and you will be treated like you are.

Something else! "But since this is not "Christian" yahoo I hesitate to say this but here goes. God placed in you at your birth a moral code. YOU have the sense to listen to it. Part of it may be your a virgin, but i doubt it. One night stands and weekend flings i agree are wrong. Sex is something that means something. Most people these days are to busy getting divorces and spiliting with boyfriends they want rebounds. It also makes ppl that have been alone for a while feel better about themselves if someone wants to have sex with them.

Why do you call it wrong, if it's not involving sex then it's just fun. It sounds like you're the one putting sex into the picture. Just have fun and don't worry about the rest, everything happens when it's supposed to happen, don't rush things, just be ready when the time comes. Good Luck! =)

It is socially acceptable... but once you have done something like this you might not feel quite so good about it. Most people don't... don't do anything you are not comfortable doing... are you religious? The best way to honor God is to be happy with the life that he gave you. So do what you think is right and what makes you happy.
