yes, try Manhattan (NYC) .. like shopping & broadway musicals. im not sure about special events, but i guess in new york city u can find interesting things to do as u walk the streets.

it's the perod of shopping, low prices everywhere...
there is a great festival of shopping in Dubai in UAE, Middle east, it's very well organized, don't worry, it's safe!!
Dubai is an amaizing place to visit, especially for shopping
