When you get out of the shower, you can put mousse in it, and wrap small sections of your hair seperately into small circles and pin them to your head. Then blowdry them.
Usually you can do that just with the front of your hair and in the back scrunch it and wrap pieces around your fingers while blowdrying it.
Also, to get a natural curl, you can just use two or more, different sized barrel, curling irons. Alternate the curl and the direction the curls go.

i have super straight natural hair too and mousse just doesn't work does it? i think for a good curl that stays put but is NOT permanent the only way to do it is with tongs. curling tongs are good and if you have a couple of sizes it will look really natural. but i definately think that curling with straighteners gives a better finish. plus depending on how much you twist the tong you can get looser or tighter curls.
for advice on how to use straighteners to curl check out www.ghdhair.com and click on trends and it gives you step-by-step instructions on how to do it.

you should try doing finger curls. those work better. you use mousse that is for curling and use your fingers to make the curls. try the garnier fructis products. look on the website on the style videos for the one entitled curls au natural.

also you could try an braid or a twist out where you braid your hair and let it sit then you remove it and then you have little spirals.
.

good luck

women spend plenty of bucks and time to look 'natural'...depends on what u define as natural. mousse won't do it, unless you have a perm...even a body wave, but those r rarely done this days.
you could try sleeping w/twist tie or foam rollers w/gel-i did that for years...no fun, but you get used to it.
now i use a toumberline, ceramic, ionic 1" iron like everyone else and use hair products. much less damaging to the hair than regular iron, time consuming (yes!), but what's a girl to do?

go to the salon and get them to set your hair with the curls that you want. if you like it then ask them to make it into permanent curls.

I suggest try first because once you curl it you cannot change your mind without damaging your hair.
however a little curls does makes one look sexy.
