Do I send thank you notes to the people who came to our party and left gifts? What about the gifts that were left without a name? I do not know who left them? How do I find out who left us what gifts?

If it was a "hostess" gift , such as a bottle of wine or candle, and they were presented to you while they were there, and you thanked them in person, you do not need to send a card. If they left wrapped presents under you tree, and therefore you did not thank them at the time, a card would be good. Obviously you can't send a card if you don't know who the gift is from, but unless you had 500 people at your house, you should be able to find out. hope that helps.

Yes, within two weeks send thank you notes. If you don't know who left the gifts, there really isn't any thing you can do about it. Sometimes people leave a note inside the gift.... you might want to check through the gift boxes again.

In the situation you describe, you are not obligated to send a written 'thank you.' If the purpose of the party was partially to bring gifts, such as a birthday party, then up to 30-days from the date of the event is fine. Wedding gifts you have a year on.

Send out a thank you note to everyone who attended, if you know who sent what, then include a little line in your note to them thanking them for the gift, be sure to mention what the gift was that you received from them.

Try and find out, ask around, and see if people saw the giver bring the gift. If you can't find them, then put out a thank you through friends. "Jane got some presents without names on them, she really liked them, and wants to say thanks."
If a name was not attatched, the giver did not wish to recieve a thank you. Or maybe the tag fell off, en route to the party. Either way, the message thru friends might work.
And yes, you send thank yous to the ones with names.
