I've found that the best way to deal with a situation like this is to "detach" myself. She behaved in an unprofessional way, and you, as a client, had every right to complain about your treatment. Now, the incident is over. Walk in just as if the incident had never happened, and you don't have to smile. You can be business-like. "Hello, my name is..., I have a ten-o-clock appointment with...." She may very well apologize to you the moment she sees you. She might have been having a really bad day. If so, simply thank her for the apology, and let it go at that. Of course, if she continues with her previous rude behavior, you may again report her. Seeing a fertility specialist can be stressful, and many people experience anxiety going to any doctor. The reception staff should be trained to make patients feel comfortable and relaxed. Let your doctor know if you are feeling uncomfortable dealing with his secretary.

Alot of docs usually arent aware of what is going on in the office. I would definitely bring it up to him.. I would just say something like, I was here last week and so and so claimed i did not have an appointment and was very nasty about it, so i had to be rescheduled for today. Make sure he is aware that you are unhappy.
As far as the receptionist goes... I would just be very shrug with her... dont be overyly friendly, but dont be nasty either.
One way to solve this problem, because i have had this happen to me before, is to make sure you get an appointment card for your next visit, that way if they try it again, you can just take it out and show them!

Act normal, like nothing happened. With all of the patients that come through the office, theres a good chance she might not even remember you anyway!
It sounds like pantient relations took care of the situation for now, but if you want to mention it to the Doc, that is up to you. Afterall, if he wants your business he'll care about what you have to say.
Good luck! :)

UGGG!!!!! I went through this with my fertility doctor for 6 months (I finally got pregnant on my own and his staff were mean then too!)
I swear these people are the meanest people and they should be the nicest with what they charge and what you are going through.
You should just check in and ignore her...she answers the phone and makes copies that is her job.
You should tell the doctor. ...you should focus on her behavior toward you...that she was unkind and rude....not that she screwed up. I would also send a letter to the doctor.
My fertility doctor was great, but his staff was so awful that I was planning to switch and then we got pregnant.

Pretend like nothing happened - just be civil. I wouldn't mention it to the MD unless the secretary acts like a jerk when you get there today. In that case, he/she should know b/c the secretary may be acting like a jerk to other patients. You might have jumped the gun in reporting her the first time.

stay cool, no need for a confrontation. She could have been having a bad day. Also, I wouldn't talk to the doctor about it. You already reported her, that's enough, if you talk more, you might look catty. I would assume they'd give their report to your MD so he/she will find out anyway.

I would just kill her with kindness. You said that you already reported the incident so I am sure someone has spoken to her. I wouldn't mention it to the doctor either, I'm sure he knows and you will only look catty for bringing it up again. Be proud of your self for not taking her crap and standing up for yourself, because more than likely she's done it before and no one said anything.

If the problem has been fixed then I would act like nothing happened. She had no right to treat you that way, but she may surpirse you and apologize.
